Mae Dell Beatty

Mazie as she was lovingly referred to by family and friends was married to Lawson Seals Beatty Sr. for 42 years. She was born in Stephenville, Texas and graduated from Stephenville High School then attended Tarleton State College. Mazie loved her church, the First Presbyterian Church of Kingwood, she took great joy in her work at the church library and volunteering at Northwest Memorial Hospital.

Mazie was preceded in death by her parents Ernest and Della Whitfield of Stephenville, Texas, her husband Lawson Seals Beatty Sr. of Kingwood, Texas and her son Lawson Seals Beatty Jr. of Cheyenne, Wyoming, also her brother Page Whitfield of Dublin Texas and sister Frances Fenner of Stephenville, Texas.

She is survived by her sons Steve Beatty and wife Bai of Kingwood, Texas and Richard Beatty and wife Linda of Houston, Texas. Daughter, Carolyn Johnson and husband Wayne of Shreveport, Louisiana. Daughter-in-law, Carol Beatty of Cheyenne, Wyoming. Grandchildren, Elizabeth Beatty of Kingwood, Texas, Austin Beatty and Elliot Beatty both of Houston, Texas, Marshall Johnson and wife Megan of Shreveport, Louisiana , Stafford Johnson of Austin, Texas, Chris Beatty of Denver, Colorado, and James Beatty of Cheyenne, Wyoming, and a great grandchild, Guy Beatty of Cheyenne, Wyoming.

A memorial service will be held Saturday May 20th, 2017, 3:00 pm at the First Presbyterian Church of Kingwood, 5520 Kingwood Blvd., Kingwood, TX 77345. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be sent to the Presbyterian Children's Home, 5020 W. Bellfort St., Houston, TX 77035 or the charity of donor’s choice.
