Margaret Hvozdovich Borrelli, age 96, was born September 26, 1913 to Helen Mazar Hvozdovich and George Hvozdovich in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, died April 28, 2010 in Kingwood, Texas. Margaret lived in Pittsburgh for 92 years. She received a Music Scholarship from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh and taught music in the Pittsburgh Public School District for 40 years, impacting the lives of many with the joy of music. Margaret also had the unique talent of playing the French Horn and enjoyed singing and reading romance novels. In Pittsburgh, she loved sitting on her front porch visiting with her neighbors. Upon moving to Kingwood in 2006, Margaret didn't waste any time making new friends. She continued her love of the outdoors by walking around the square at the Town Center Apartments and making friends with everyone she met along the way. She filled her calendar quickly with social activities such as Bingo, Cards, and lunches with the St. Martha Catholic Church and Kingwood United Methodist Church Senior's Sunshine Club, the Town Center Group and the Kingwood Apartments Group. And she remained "feisty"!! While at Regent Care Center, Margaret quickly earned the nick names "Mamma" and "The Boss" and wore those titles with pride. The loving and supportive staff at Regent Care admired her for her strength, tenacity, strong will, and feistiness. As we reflect on Margaret's life, it is not a tragedy, but an opportunity to celebrate a long and fulfilled life. We should count ourselves among the fortunate to have been able to call her daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and a friend to all..."Cent Anni", 100 years to Margaret living life "doing it my way".
