

Mario Quiroga, age 63, passed away on December 2, 2012 following an all too short battle with cholangial carcinoma. During his 3 month illness he exhibited extreme grace, eternal optimism, and unbelievable bravery.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sharon Joiner Quiroga, sisters Aurora Alford of Clearwater, Florida, Mela Flores and her husband Edward of San Antonio, Texas, Jane Moore of San Antonio, Texas, and Esther Torres and her husband Robert of Colleyville, Texas. Mario also leaves behind brothers Paul Quiroga of Port Aransas, Texas and Richard Quiroga and his wife Virginia of Spring Branch, Texas. Also, Sister in Law Rebecca Evans and husband Jerry of Albuquerque, New Mexico along with 24 nieces and nephews and 44 great nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Pablo and Florencia Quiroga, brothers Ricardo and Roberto Quiroga, in laws J.T. and Lynnoitte Joiner, and Dallas and Doris McClendon.
He found joy in every aspect of life with a love of golf that exceeded his ability but not his effort and dedication. His final days were made easier by exceptional medical professionals, true friends and loyal and loving family.
Mario will have visitation at Kingwood Funeral Home, on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. -4:00 p.m. with a funeral service to begin at 4:00 p.m. Mario will then be taken to Albertville, Alabama for a visitation on Thursday, December 6, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home and then have a service on Friday, December 7, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Mario will be laid to rest at Asbury Cemetery in Albertville, Alabama to follow.
