She was married to Inez Garcia for 41 years. She and Inez had five children, Elena, Ernesto, Leticia (who passed away at 4-months old), David and Daniel. She widowed in 1996. She persevered to achieve her GED in 1997 at the age of 60.
She moved to Kingwood in 2002 to live with David, her son, and his family. She lived simply and treasured simple things like pictures or crafts that her grandkids made for her (always kept them). She loved to read, do cross-word puzzles, eat sweets, dress elegantly, collect Nativity scenes, walk and play with her dog, Foxy, go on vacations, go to parties, dance and have fun, and was always ready to offer a warm hug!
She emulated St. Monica making many sacrifices and always praying for her deeply loved children, grandchildren, family and friends. She had a strong devotion to the Divine Mercy & taught others to "Trust in Jesus" by how she lived her life. She also had a strong devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and praying Rosary. She prayed daily with the Magnificat missal and knew how to BE STILL AND KNOW GOD. She loved going to Children's Adoration Hour to worship and sing to our Lord.
The ambulance that carried her on the morning she died had the words “COURAGE, COMMITMENT, COMPASSION” listed on the side. It was no coincidence, as that is how she lived her life – very courageous (strong mother/wife), committed (to God and her family) and compassionate (to everyone she met).
She loves her 5 children and 9 grandchildren dearly. She takes with her the love that she has for Jesus, His Blessed Mother and others. She also takes with her the love we have for her.
Thank you Martha (Tita, Mama’)
for blessing us with your life ❤️
