Marva Alma Clarke born May 9, 1947 to loving parents Lifford and Gwendoline Clarke in Kingston, Jamaica.

In her early age she attended Elletson All Age School and graduated from Vauxhall High School in Kingston, Jamaica.

Marva later married James Robert Sloley and was blessed with two girls and one boy. Marva was a loving mother, wife, and loved her family. She moved to London, England temporarily to assists and help meet the needs of her family, then later moved to the United States.

Marva continued her journey and arrived in New York. While in New York, at the age of 29, she suffered an aneurysm and a stroke. This near-death experience changed her life. Her children were rushed from Jamaica to her bedside. Because of her spiritual belief in God, she gained hope and determination to live. She went from rehabilitation to walking again. She later opened Marva’s Day Care, because she had much love for the children as well as helping many family and friends. Once again, she gave up her Day Care to help take care of a family member with cancer until the family member passed. She then resumed the Day Care until she was no longer able to so.

During her life, Marva enjoyed baking, dancing, music, fashion and love to travel.

Marva is preceded in death by her parents, Lifford and Gwendoline Clarke; her husband, James Sloley; her brothers, Trevor Clarke and Marlon Clarke; and loving aunt Ruby Clarke.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories, her three children Michelle Camille (Sterne), Maxine Sloley, and Mario Sloley (Melissa); Her siblings, Horace (aka Ken) Clarke, Laurenston (aka Larry) Clarke, Yolanda (aka Lal) Ramsey, and Desiree Clarke-Simpson; Four grandchildren: Zuri Stewart, Kemi Stewart, Omari Myers, and Jaden Camille; One Great Grandchild, Kashton Foster and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members.

No farewell words were spoken.
No time to say goodbye.
You were gone before we knew it,
And only god knows why.
Our hearts still ache in sadness.
And secret tears still flow,
What it meant to lose you.
No one will ever know.

Mom you will be missed.

I' m missing all our conversations while on my way to work most mornings the laughs and some tears I will never forget . The last time I saw you was the week before you made your transition , you requested from me for your birthday dinner party in your words verbatim '' mek mi look good " I knew that meant makeup and this time you wanted you nails done .Like always I replied sure I remembered our conversation as I cut up laughing . What can I say Auntie Marva I will miss you dearly until we meet again in heaven love & kisses.

In Loving Memory of Your Mom

When God was making mothers
as far as I can see.
He made a special women for your family.
He made her a perfect lady compassionate and kind.
With more love and affection than you could ever wish to find.
God gave your mom a heart of solid gold
He gave you wonderful memories only your heart can hold.
Next time you meet it will be at heaven's door
When you see her standing there you want cry no more.
You will put your arms around her and kiss her smiling face.
Then the piece of your broken heart will be back in place.
