MaryAnn Byrne was born to Victor & Patricia Tarry on September 1st, 1954 at Oneida City Hospital in Oneida, NY. She graduated from Oneida High School in 1972 and received her Secretarial Science certificate from Mohawk Valley Community College in 1973. After finishing school, from 1973-77, MaryAnn worked at the city engineer’s office for the City of Oneida.
In January of 1977, MaryAnn’s high-school sweetheart, James Byrne, moved to Texas to find work. After securing employment, James proposed to MaryAnn over the phone and she soon drove down to Texas to join him. They were married on March 26th, 1977 at St. Thomas More Church in Houston, TX. MaryAnn and James were married for thirty-seven years. During this time they had three children and raised them in Kingwood, TX. MaryAnn was a devoted-stay at home mom who patiently and lovingly raised three boys. To her four grandchildren, she was a source of pure and unconditional love. MaryAnn exuded joy, kindness and warmth; it is these qualities that resonate throughout the memories she created with her children and grandchildren.
Throughout her life MaryAnn had various jobs, including that of bookkeeper in the early days of her husband’s business. From 2000-2010, MaryAnn worked as St. Martha’s bookkeeper where she met an incredible group of friends with whom she has always remained close. FTS.
MaryAnn Byrne passed on April 28th, 2020, in her home surrounded by all her loved ones who could be present. She is survived by her three children: Andy, Neil and Kyle; her two brothers, Vic & Bill Tarry; her SAB sister, Annie Byrne; her ex-husband James; and her four grandchildren: Brooke, Ashlyn, Ben and Beau.
