

Michael Morgan Sanderson, 46, of Kingwood, Texas passed away with his family by his side after a brief battle with cancer. Born on October 28, 1979 in Meriden, Connecticut, Michael’s life was marked by devotion – to his family, his work and the community he built around him.
Michael was a graduate of Humble High School where he was the only Humble High School runner to qualify individually for state in both cross country and track.
He was a graduate of The University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science, Mathematics Cum Laude.
Michael worked in the oil industry for over 25 years. Most recently with Weatherford Int’l as a Sustaining Engineering Manager.
Michael loved sports, whether it was attending his daughter’s volleyball and softball games and tournaments or his son’s soccer games and Houston Cougar’s basketball.
He was a part of their daughter’s softball community and traveled frequently to tournaments in and out of state which gave his family the opportunity to take in some wonderful sites together and enjoy the camaraderie of the team’s families.
Michael was the beloved husband of Norma Sanderson and proud father to his children Michael, Alexander and Autumn. He is survived by his parents William and Noreen Sanderson; brother Ryan Sanderson and niece Aria Sanderson of Austin, TX; cousin Jon Sanderson of Conroe, TX; Mother and Father in law Alberto and Edith Velasquez; Sister in law's Jenny Slihieet, Jessica Velasquez and Jennifer Salazar; and brother in law Jose Velasquez, along with a host of family and friends.
He will be remembered most for the unwavering love and guidance he offered his family, always encouraging his children to pursue their dreams and helping them set their sights on the future.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the MD Anderson Cancer Center Houston, TX staff who took great care of Michael.
