Nelson Banda

Nelson Banda, age 85, passed away on July 15, 2026. Born on April 19, 1941, Nelson will be remembered with deep respect and enduring affection by all who knew him. A beloved presence in the lives of many, he carried himself with quiet dignity and left a lasting imprint through the care he showed to others and the steadiness with which he met life.

From early on, Nelson’s outlook was shaped by a love of the wider world. A world traveler at heart, he embraced life with an open mind and an appreciation for the people and places that broaden understanding. He also found joy and connection through soccer—a lifelong love that reflected his spirited engagement with the world around him. In his personal time, Nelson found meaning in simple, steady pursuits—jogging, photography, soccer, and travel. Whether capturing a moment through the lens, keeping an active routine, or following the game he loved, he carried an appreciation for life’s movement and its memories, holding close the people and experiences that mattered most.

Nelson dedicated his working life to manufacturing, approaching his responsibilities with commitment and reliability. Through years of service and daily effort, he helped build and support the work that sustains communities, earning the respect of those who worked alongside him.

Nelson is survived by his wife, Maria Mercedes Banda; his son, Byron Banda; and his grandson, Byron Banda Jr. He is also remembered as the son of Parents Alfonso Banda and Maria Elena Montenegro. He is survived by his sibling, Mariana Galarza De Nieto, and was preceded in death by his sibling, Gustavo Banda.

A Funeral Service will be held at Kingwood Funeral Home, 22800 Highway 59 North, Kingwood, TX 77339, on July 25, 2026, at 2:00 pm.

A Nelson le sobreviven su esposa, Maria Mercedes Banda; su hijo, Byron Banda; y su nieto, Byron Banda Jr. También se le recuerda como hijo de Alfonso Banda y Maria Elena Montenegro. Le sobrevive su hermana, Mariana Galarza De Nieto, su hermano fallecido Gustavo Banda.

El servicio funerario se llevará a cabo en Kingwood Funeral Home, ubicado en 22800 Highway 59 North, Kingwood, TX 77339, el 25 de julio de 2026 a las 2:00 p.m.
