Nora Elizabeth (Reynolds) Krisher of Kingwood, Texas, passed away peacefully at the age of 86 early Monday morning, September 21, at Graceful Harbor in Huffman, Texas, after a long, courageous battle with dementia. Nora was known as “Beth” to her business associates and others, and was affectionately called “Nono” by her nieces and nephews. Her grandchildren called her Mamaw and Grandma.
Born on May 8, 1940, to Johnnie Elizabeth Reynolds and Ira O’Neal Reynolds in Livingston, Texas, Nora spent her early years in Livingston and Cloverleaf, Texas. It was there, in 1956, that she met and married her husband, Darwin L. Krisher, known as D.K.
Nora had a successful professional life, spending a number of years with the Snelling and Snelling Employment Agency. She later became a real estate saleswoman, owned a ladies’ fashion boutique—of course - called “The Fashion Trunk”—in Deerbrook Mall in Humble, Texas, and worked as a loan officer in Liberty, Texas.
Beyond her professional achievements, Nora’s greatest pride was her role as a mother. All who knew her would agree that she truly became the matriarch of the family. She had a passion for interior decoration, and her homes were always beautiful. An independent woman, Nora always dressed to the nines and loved her jewelry. She found her greatest joy in family events, sharing her love with everyone.
Nora is survived by her two daughters, Lawanna Collins and her husband, Dwayne, and DeLaina Shreiner and her husband, Donald; her son, Jason Krisher, and his fiancé, Theresa; her brother, Donn Reynolds, and his wife, Paula Mahar; and her sister, Vickie Rosier. She is also survived by six grandchildren—Kyle, Brandi, Blake, Bailey, Storm, and Tori; 14 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ira and Johnnie Reynolds; her husband, Darwin “D.K.” Krisher; her older brother, Norman O’Neal Reynolds; and her brother-in-law, Bruce Rosier, husband of her sister Vickie.
A grand and beautiful life held in the memories of her beloved - always.
