It's been a year since Patsy's passing. 

It was a privilege to receive her intimate journals that poetically exposed the spiritual journey of her fear of the disease, her vulnerabilities as she went through the treatments, her extent of her love for God, family and friends, and the emotional journey of finding peace with God's will.

Her empty chair in Church makes asks what would Patsy say about the sermons, the Choir, and all the familiar -and unfamiliar- faces.
Her empty chair in Sunday School asks what would Patsy say about the lectures, the nature of the prayer requests, the socials, the fashions, the holidays.. all the familiar -and unfamiliar- faces; Her empty seat in the car asks what would Patsy say about the new SOS resale shop, the new Wal-Mart going in, the redirection of traffic, the [lack] of progress with the road expansions, the familiar -and unfamiliar- faces; Her empty seat at City Hall asks what would Patsy say about the latest election, local services, and co-workers.

Though all who knew have managed to move on, Patsy's family, friends, and the City of Magnolia, Texas recognize they lost a beautiful soul a year ago. Something tells me she is watching everything that's going on from above (and keeping a journal ;)

I will remain thankful to God for allowing this beautiful soul to be a part of my life.

Buddy and I were so saddened by Patsy's death.  We are unable to attend the funeral as Buddy has a rare form of pneumonia and still on medication and under doctor's care.  Patsy and her family are in our thoughts and prayers.  Buddy and Mary Ellen

To the Family of Patsy Williams,

Phyllis and I do regret so sincerely not being able to be present at the service in memory and honor of Patsy, our dear friend and neighbor.
As for me, I underwent radical kidney surgery on Monday, the 11th, to remove a fourth of my left kidney and am now home recovering.  My movements and strength are quite limited, but we are with you all in spirit.  How she sought to be light in our world.  
God bless you richly, Jonny, and we plan to see you as soon as I am on my feet and out of the house.

Rest in Peace Ms. Patsy. You will be terribly missed. Such a wonderful human being, always laughing, cutting up and smiling. Deepest sympathies to her family, friends and all who loved her. I will always thank you for supporting Mr. Mendes and for interviewing me for my job here. The City of Magnolia has lost another GREAT person. God Bless and keep you Patsy Williams.

I loved my Aunt Patsy. So sorry to hear this. Prayers going out for the family.

Ms. Patsy I only met you once, but when I did, I could tell you had the heart of a strong woman.  I admire you and know you're in the arms of our Lord.  You'll be missed.  With hugs and love to you and your family.

I admired Patsy's strength and courage as she fought cancer.  I also appreciated her vulnerability and honesty as she shared her feelings and challenges in e-mail updates.  She was a champion of praying specifically, and she never failed to give God the glory for every victory.  She was a lovely lady with an exuberant personality.  I will miss her in Joy Sisters and Agape class.

Patsy demonstrated determination, positive action, graciousness, and the love of our Lord Jesus Christ during her battle.  I gained even more respect for her as she continued to fight for healing and good health.  Jesus has healed her with His love, and I'm sure His arms were holding her as she went to be with Him.  Jonny was a brave and loving caregiver and gave her the support to continue fighting.  God bless all of you and comfort you in your sorrow.  Anne Sundquist

Patsy and I were friends for only a short time but during that time many fond memories were created.  She and Jonny were aces in my book.  She will be remembered fondly.

She was most courageous in her battle with cancer. She kept her faith, she ran a good race and is now resting I the presence of her Lord ad Savior. A friend.

Patsy will always be remembered . She was one of a kind. We shared some good times together. And was there for each other during some trying times. My love to the family.

Mimi, you were such a ray of sunshine when u walked in a room and smiled. I sure miss that bright smile and sweet disposition. Your kind, caring heart for others who were in need is a trait I will definitely remember always. I miss mostly your hugs! You were such a wonderful grandmother to me and great grandmother to my children. I thank u for that. We will always keep u dear to our hearts. You are so loved by us all! Never forgotten.

Mimi, u were always a ray of sunshine and your smile brightened up a dark room. Ur hug was always my favorite part! I miss ur smile and hugs already. The generosity you always showed to those less fortunate than you, providing them a place to live or your kind, caring self is a trait I'll never forget about u. You were such a wonderful grandmother and I am so glad u aren't suffering anymore. Love you dearly! You'll never be forgotten.

Patsy, I will always remember you for your sweet smile, your loving heart, your friendship, your strength through everything, and your never failing faith in Christ.  I love you, my dear sister in Christ, and I will see you again one day.  My thoughts and prayers are with Jonny and family.
