Peggye L. Andress, age 79, of San Miguel de Allende, Mexico passed away on Friday November 2, 2018 in Houston, Texas . Peggye was born March 23, 1939 in Crosbyton, Texas to James and Alleen Siegler. Peggye was a beloved sister to Patsy, Linda, Sandra and James.
As a child Peggye took part in cheerleading, pep squad, Choir and Science club, but her true love was reading. Her love of reading continued into her adulthood, and she remained a life-long learner. As an adult, she was an active member of the garden club and loved the beauty found in nature. She could see beauty everywhere, and created beauty in her environment as an interior designer for the last 25 years of her life.
Peggye was a member of the Episcopal Church and found her place in many women's groups and bible studies throughout her life. Her faith was very important to her, and she truly reflected the love of God to all she met. She was a peacemaker who often helped bring harmony into relationships and always saw the best in people. She was very outgoing and friendly, and ever the optimist, was able to find something good in nearly every situation.
Peggye loved to travel. Some of her most loved trips were to Italy, the Amalfi Coast specifically. Don and Peggye also lived abroad in both Saudi Arabia and in Mexico for many years. She served as President of the American Women Club in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and was active at the American Embassy. When they lived in the states, she was a part of the International Club and was always involved in the community. She and her beloved Don were living in San Miguel, Mexico until Peggye got terribly sick. She fought a brave battle against cancer.
As an adult, Peggye became an ASID interior designer, and was accomplished in both residential and coimmercial design. She could make anyplace beautiful! She loved art and spent years as a docent at the Houston Museum of fine arts, helping educate others with her extensive knowledge.
Peggye is survived by her spouse of 30 years, Donald W. Andress; her two sisters, Linda and Sandy; her brother James, better known as Buddy; her three daughters Missy, Sheryl and Allyson; her eight grandchildren Valerie, Will, Emmy, Kate, Kristen, Colleen, Caroline and Allyson; and her three great grandchildren Hunter, Lizzy and Addy, as well as six nieces and nephews. She will be sorely missed by many in her extended family and a multitude of friends.
Peggye was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Patsy.
