Pura Antonia Camacho Shepard, age 87, who was a 37 year resident of Kingwood, Texas, passed away on April 25, 2013 in Cypress, Texas. She was born to Puro and Rosalia Camacho on March 12, 1926 in San Pedro de Marcoris, Dominican Republic.
Pura was active in First Presbyterian Church of Kingwood and had a true love for arts and crafts. Pura was an initial founder of the Pidler’s Group dedicated to such interests.
Pura leaves behind her two loving sons, Edwin M. Shepard III and Walter B. Shepard, one sister, Yolanda Camacho Padilla, four grandchildren, Lori Berkhimer, Paul Shepard, Krista Foley, and Lisa Shepard, and seven great grandchildren, Julie, Lynnette, Elyse, Zach, Zoe, Scott, and Hayley.
Pura is preceded in death by her loving husband Edwin M. Shepard, Jr. whom she married on November 18, 1945, and her dear daughter, Martha Louise Nix.
A memorial service for Pura will take place on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at First Presbyterian Church of Kingwood, 5520 Kingwood Drive, Kingwood, Texas 77339, at 2:00 p.m.
