

Rheba Ellen Westmoreland, 73, of Kingwood, Texas passed away at her home on August 7, 2014. Rheba was born on September 30, 1940 in Booneville, Mississippi and is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, David H. Westmoreland; son David Westmoreland and wife, Debbie of Dickinson, Texas; Daughter Terri and husband, Larry of Kingwood; son Richard and wife, Sabine of Vienna, Austria; and son Larry and wife, Karmela of Katy, Texas.
She also leaves four grandchildren, Jessica Karigan (husband Johnathan), Lauren and Holly Tipton, and Justin Westmoreland. Sisters Betty Heil (husband Butch) and Gloria Hilburn (husband David) and many other nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends survive her as well.
She is preceded in death by father, Arthur White; mother, Rhoda Ruedrich; and step-father, H.R. Ruedrich.
Her greatest happiness in life was as a devoted wife to David, loving mother to her four children, and doting grandmother to her four grandchildren. Before she was stricken with a stroke in 2001, she volunteered extensively in Carlsbad, New Mexico, where she and David lived for many years, with Altrusa International, The Literacy Board, and The Women’s Club. One of her many passions was decorating for the holidays and she is remembered for the many beautifully and ornately themed Christmas trees that she created through the years of which many were donated to charitable organizations.
Rheba was a member of Woodridge Baptist Church in Kingwood.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 11 at 2 pm at Kingwood Funeral Home with visitation at 1 pm.
