

Edward “Richard” Richardson Crockett, JR., 58, passed away on February 7, 2011 following a 17 month long battle with brain cancer. Richard was born in Austin, Texas on November 28, 1952. The family later moved to Houston and Phoenix where he graduated from Moon Valley High School in 1971. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Theatre Management from Northern Arizona University. Richard managed movie theaters for a number of years and had his own theatre company during the 1980s. Most recently, he served as the Facilities Manager for several large religious institutions in the Houston area. He was a member of Holy Comforter Lutheran Church where he served as a Lector and Communion assistant. Richard was a true Renaissance man. He was an avid woodworker, writer of novels and short stories and had just ventured into voice-over actor work shortly before he became ill.
Richard is survived by his wife, Maria Walston Crockett, his sons, John Crockett and wife Rachel and Alexander Crockett, his parents, Jean Kane and step-father Bill, Edward Richardson Crockett, Sr. and step-mother Margaret “Midge”, sister, Rena Crockett and his brothers, Joe Crockett and wife Sandy, Dean Crockett and wife Heidi, and several neices and nephews.
A visitation will be held at Kingwood Funeral Home on Thursday, February 10, 2011 from 6pm until 8pm. Funeral services will be held at Holy Comforter Lutheran Church, 1901 Woodland Hills Dr., Kingwood, TX. 77339, on Friday, February 11, 2011 at 10am with interment to follow at Chappell Hill Masonic Cemetery in Chappell Hill, Texas. Pallbearers will be George Walston, Jr., Kellon Ketchum, Don Drover, Todd Arndt, Dennis Camp and Greg Burress.
