Beloved husband to Melissa Mauriello Spartz and devoted father to Katherine Mary Elizabeth
(Katie) and Kevin George.
Much loved youngest sibling to Mary Elizabeth (Robert) Vietti, James (Nancy) Spartz, Barbara
(Harry) Weirath, Nancy (John) Wakefield, Thomas (Maggi) Spartz, William (Deborah) Spartz,
Michael (Cindy) Spartz, Jack (Jenny) Spartz, Matthew (Cindy) Spartz, Clare Spartz
Son-in-law to Dr. Alfred and Susan Mauriello of Pennsylvania; brother-in-law to Chrissie and
Joseph Scalia and Jeffrey Mauriello
Uncle to 30, great uncle to 29; surviving and passed aunts and uncles and cousins by the
dozens. Friend to many, stranger to none.
Graduate of St. Edmund Elementary School and Fenwick High School of Oak Park, IL;
attended St. Norbert and Northwestern University.
Robert had careers that spanned many industries ranging from golf pro to his most recent
achievements as a top producing loan originator in the mortgage business.
He was an enterprising, creative and exceptionally smart and funny man who caddied his way
through high school and college. He was an active parishioner at St Martha’s Catholic Church,
a proud 4th Degree Knight of Columbus and a successful businessman and mentor.
His greatest love and priority was his family and faith. All who knew him knew of his devotion,
commitment and pride. He was able to grow a business that allowed him to attend his
children’s performances and many sporting events, participating fully and joyfully as an active
parent.
He was much loved and will be sorely missed, but his memories and laughter will be great
comfort to many.
