He served in the United States Army from 1972-1974. He and his wife, Clementina Vander Veer, married in January 1982 in El Paso, Texas. Rob was an avid reader and had an insatiable thirst for knowledge. He enjoyed music, studying his Bible, the ocean, and being outdoors. He was witty and always ready to have fun.
He is survived by his wife, Clementina Vander Veer; his children, George William Vander Veer and Mary Ann Vander Veer; his sisters, JoAnn Kennard and Alice Oliver; and 5 grandchildren, whom he loved dearly, Grayson Werner Vander Veer, Asa Robert Vander Veer, Wyatt Robert Vander Veer, Logan Timothy Vander Veer, and Olivia Rose Vander Veer. He was predeceased by his brothers, Joseph and George Vander Veer.
Robert’s infectious laugh and joyful spirit will be sorely missed but he was a faithful Seventh-day Adventist who believed in the second coming of Jesus Christ. We hold on to the promise that we will see Robert again on that great day.
