STEVE WAS A MANS MAN AND ONE OF A KIND.  HIS FRIENDSHIP WAS EVERYYTHING YOU COULD WANT AND HE ALWAYS WAS THERE TO HELP OUT ANY WAY HE COULD.   WE BOTH ENJOYED THE OUTDOORS AND HAD A NUMBER OF OUTINGS BEIT ON LAND OR ON THE WATER.   I TRUELY ENJOYED ALL THOSE TIMES BUT HUNTING WITH STEVE AND THE MEMORIES MADE ARE FIRMLY ETCHED INSIDE.  THE BOBCAT I GOT AT THE FARM IS HANGING ON MY WALL AND THE MEMORY OF THAT TRIP WITH STEVE I WILL FOREVER CHERISH.

I always had a special place in my heart for Steve. He was always smiling and making people laugh. 
I pray that his daughters know that he was

We met Steve when he lived in Rio Villa many years ago when there were many parties and gatherings in the neighborhood. He was always a nice, genuine man who had an infectious laugh and a big heart. Keeping you all in our prayers during this difficult time.

It is with profound sadness that I wish Stephen’s family my condolences on his passing. The description of him was spot on and he was every bit of those things. I was lucky enough to have Stephen come into my life twice, once as HS sweethearts and reuniting again 4 1/2 years ago. In the the last 4 years he only spoke of how proud he is  of his beautiful daughters and how crazy he was about his grandsons. He said there was nothing GREATER than being a                 “ pawpaw” ! His only wish was that he had more time to watch them grow up. I know that there are no words to fill the GIANT void that he will leave but just know that he loved y’all with such ferociousness that his love will give you strength . He will be in every part of that house and playground that he created and he wants y’all to keep getting family together. 
I wish you all peace .

Steve,  I am so happy that I got to know you in the last few years and on our trip to and from Destin. I will miss our lunches and conversations on the phone. Rest in peace my friend, you are now joined with your lovely wife Donna and her brother Eddie Sadler. 

Dear Taren and Alyssa,

We were saddened and shocked to learn of your Dad's untimely passing. Keeping his illness quiet was a true testament of the caliber of man that was Steve. Our memories with Steve and Donna in our young adult years, seeking careers, buying homes and building families will always be cherished.  When life presents you with a Steve Benoit as a friend one is beyond blessed. My memories of him are all fond and filled with admiration.  Our deepest thoughts and condolences to both of you , Mr Benoit, Benny, Michelle and all your loved ones.

Debra I am so sorry for your loss.   Steve was a wonderful man.    He always made us feel welcome.   My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.   

May the Lord hold you in His arms as He welcomes you home. 
I never saw Steve without a smile or a laugh. He was truly a beam of sunshine in everyone’s life.

I'm sorry to hear Steve left us so soon. He was by far the best story teller I've ever known. I'll miss him greatly especially on the Carson Ranch hunts. Condolences to family and friends. Bill Mathis and Debra Lavender of Marquez,  Texas 

It was pure heartbreak to learn of Steve’s suffering and passing. 

 How can I tell you how much this man and My Donna meant to me… Steve was such a hoot to be around and boy we had aplenty of hooting going on! The Rio Villa parties and crawfish boils, the weekend visits on the San Jacinto River, playing horseshoes, playing croquet, playing darts… You name it, the Benoits probably had it to play!  

To be a part of his and Donna’s lives was a pure blessing to me. To watch the love and fun shared between them brought a smile to my face. And when Donna would tire of the games, she wouldn’t mind at all (sometimes even encouraged it – lol) if Steve and I just kept on playing until the wee hours! Oh and lest I forget, Steve showed me how to shoot a 22 off the back balcony and taught me well he did. That poor rabbit! I freaked and oh how he laughed at me!

Steve would be there just as much and just as often as Donna would be during my hard times, welcoming me to just hang and feel so loved.

Although we didn’t see each other a whole lot since I moved to California, you knew he’d always be there if you needed him. Sadly, the last time I saw him was at Donna’s celebration of life but we were able to spend the entire night reminiscing about the good times, and sharing sobering thoughts and feelings about the future. I will forever cherish that night.

Boy did he love his girls and grandkids! He had so many stories to share.  And every one of them made me laugh b/c he knew how to tell a story! And there were a million of them over the nearly 35 years….

It so saddens me that he was taken from us so soon after Donna’s passing but I truly hope he was able to find some happiness again.

Steve, how loved you are! And how missed you will be! Heartbroken that I can’t be there with the family to celebrate your amazing life. But I’ll celebrate it out here as if I am…
