Steven Jeffrey Marinis

Our dear father and husband Steven Jeffrey Marinis sadly passed away on June 8, 2024, at the age of 74. Surrounded by his loving family and friends in his final moments, he was a very spiritual man, full of unforgettable humor and wisdom. His passion for his family and his unwavering spirit will forever be remembered.

Steve enjoyed talking sports with his daughters, grandkids, and son-in-law, and was a University of Texas Longhorns fan having graduated from the University of Texas Plan II Honors Program. He loved history and reading and was proud of his Greek heritage.

After graduating from the University of Texas, Steve traveled extensively in South America for work and lived in Peru with his family for 10 years. He was fluent in Spanish, but with a Texan drawl. He enjoyed his wife’s great Peruvian cooking. Steve also had a great appreciation for antiques and South American textiles.

We thank his medical team and hospice nurses that provided him compassionate care.

Steve is proceeded in death by his parents, Betty Sue and Dr. Thomas Marinis, and his sister Susan Marinis Evans. He is survived by his wife Noemi P. Marinis, his daughter Christina Marinis Calabrese and husband Donato and their child Antonio (Max) of Kingwood, Texas, his daughter Paula Marinis and her children Kyle and Caleb (Pistol) of Pittsboro, North Carolina. He is also survived by his brother Thomas P. Marinis, Jr. and wife Lucinda of Houston, Texas. In addition, he leaves behind many cherished family members, friends, and loved ones.

Steve’s last wishes to his family were “Be true and faithful to God, yourselves, family, friends, and job. Never be anxious, always calm. Grateful and unselfish. Thus be healthy, happy, and secure. I love you!”
