Terry McClellan Jadney peacefully passed away at home the morning of Wednesday, January 19, 2022. During her brief stay in home hospice, she was attended by her husband of 47 years, Steven, her sister Lou Ann Nelson and husband Robert of Jackson, Tennessee, her sister Amy Feltner and husband Gary of Bastrop, Texas, daughter Meghan Warren and husband Ben of Montgomery, Texas along with grandchildren Jacob, Kate, and Livi (Olivia) Warren. Daughter Erin Jadney of Austin and son Kevin Jadney of Houston often handled the night shift at both the hospital and at home.
Terry Lee McClellan, the second daughter of Verle Orlo McClellan and Patricia Lee LePlant McClellan, was born in Atwood, Kansas on July 5, 1953. Terry grew up in Atwood with her sisters Lou Ann, and Amy, and brother Gary, currently of Las Vegas, Nevada. At a young age she thought the 4th of July was a celebration of her birthday. She enjoyed running and beating the boys at foot races. Her father, Verle McClellan was the Atwood High School principal, so the threat of being sent to the principal’s office had a totally different and effective meaning to Terry and her siblings. Several beehive hairdos later Terry attended Kansas State University.
Working in Kansas City, Terry met and married Steven W Jadney in Overland Park, Kansas on June 21, 1975. While living in New Jersey, Terry gave birth to children Meghan, Erin, and Kevin in Princeton, New Jersey. Moving to Houston for the second time, this time to her current residence in Kingwood, Terry worked for ReMax Associates, and most recently Lone Star College Kingwood as a test proctor. Terry followed her legacy and was an active member and past President of the local chapter of PEO, a national woman’s philanthropic organization. She enjoyed Pokeno, learning to steal prizes among the best. A longtime member of First Presbyterian Church of Kingwood, she was active on a pastoral selection committee, most recently bible study, and was a regular volunteer in the church office staffing. Her faith was strong and continued throughout her battles with cancer.
Thank you, Terry, for everything. Well done!
