Thomas "Tom" Edward Jakubowski

Thomas was born on April 25, 1964, in London, England. At a young age, he moved to the United States with his family. Later, along with his father and brother, he proudly became an American citizen.

Tom attended Corpus Christi Catholic School in Houston and later graduated from St. Thomas High School, also in Houston. During his time at St. Thomas High School, Tom played on the soccer team and contributed to their victory in the 1981 State Championship.

Tom attended the University of Houston, where he became a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity and made lifelong friendships.

Tom served proudly in the United States Marine Corps, 1st Battalion, 1st Marines, attaining the rank of Corporal. Stationed at Camp Pendleton in California, he specialized in weapons and was an exceptional marksman.

Tom had a long successful career in the Engineering industry as an Electrical Designer, a career that perfectly aligned with his technical expertise and meticulous nature.

Tom was passionate about a wide range of hobbies. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, whether it was boating, fishing, or gardening. He took great joy in creating vibrant habitats for bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, and other birds.

As an artist, craftsman, and photographer, Tom found immense joy in creating and repairing items for the people he loved. Whether it was cars, leather bags, electric guitars, or vintage sewing machines.

Tom is survived by his wife, Kathleen Jakubowski, daughters and their partners, Clare Jakubowski (Laura), Gabby Jakubowski (Morgan), stepsons and their families, Robert DeBruyn (Georgia, Dimitri, Becca, Demi) and Christopher DeBruyn (Caylee). His siblings Simon Jakubowski (Lisa), Anne Marie Kappes (Jerry), nephews Alexander, Andrew and Niece Emma Kappes. His mother Veronica Hollingsworth, his father Zbigniew Jakubowski. Tom was preceded in death by his sister Clare Patricia Jakubowski and grandparents Margaret and William Helm.

Thomas' family invites those who loved and want to celebrate Tom's life to his memorial service, held October 18, 2025, at 11:00am at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 9900 Stella Link Rd. Houston, TX.
