

Born to Thurman and Hotona Northam, Thurman lived a life defined by faith, service, hard work, and devotion to his family. After beginning college in 1956, he answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Marine Corps. He served honorably as a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps from 1956 to 1960 aboard the USS Ticonderoga. Following his military service, he returned to complete his education, earning a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Eastern New Mexico State University in 1964.
Thurman enjoyed a long career in accounting. During his professional life, he worked for AC Nielsen before later joining Davis Lynch, where he served as an accountant until his retirement.
His Christian faith remained a constant throughout his life. He was a devoted member of the Church of Christ, worshipping most recently with the Humble Church of Christ. Over the years, he was also a faithful member of the La Porte Church of Christ and Southside Church of Christ as his family relocated.
Thurman was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carol Northam; his parents, Thurman and Hotona Northam; and his sisters, Carol Ruggles, Brenda Allen, and Iris Westfall.
He is survived by his daughter, Rhonda Bollman of Kingwood, Texas; his son, Paul Northam (Heather) of Houston, Texas; his brother, Roy Northam of Houston, Texas; and his cherished grandchildren, Katy Bollman, Kobe Bollman, Luke Northam, Lydia Northam, and Micah Northam, along with extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory.
Thurman will be remembered for his quiet strength, steadfast faith, dedicated service to his country, and the love he shared with his family. His life touched many, and his memory will continue to be a blessing to all who knew him.
