Wilda Thomas Corbin
January 17, 1930 – May 13, 2018
On Sunday, May 13th at the age of 88, Wilda Thomas Corbin closed her eyes to this world and opened them in the arms of Jesus.
A loving and generous wife, mother and grandma, Wilda's family was her life -- always thinking of them first. She worked in several areas from telephone operator to retail but her favorite and most rewarding occupation was being a mom to her three children and grandma to her four grandchildren she affectionately called her angels. She enjoyed gardening in her earlier years, cooking for her family and a few winning rounds at the slots in Las Vegas and Mississippi!
A native of Tylertown, MS, her life with her husband-Glen took her across the country and the world. She said that being a "Navy family" gave her the opportunity of experiencing the world as she could never imagine growing up on a small farm in rural Mississippi.
She left behind a family that are forever grateful for her example of strength, courage and love. She leaves behind daughters Sandy Corbin and Judy Rodriguez and husband Ralph Rodriguez; a son Tommy Corbin and Jennifer Corbin; two granddaughters Brooke Alexis Rodriguez and Kayla Nicole Corbin; and two grandsons Eric Matthew Rodriguez and Hayden Paul Corbin. Wilda is also survived by a brother, Earl Thomas of Tylertown, MS and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Glen Roland Corbin; her parents Lemmie and Edna Thomas; and eight brothers and sisters.
A celebration of her life will be held on Monday, May 21, 2018 at Kingwood Funeral Home, 22800 Highway 59 N, Kingwood, Texas 77339, as follows: Visitation 10:00 am - 11:00 am Services 11:00 am - 12:00 pm. Graveside services 2:00pm at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038.
