David Caldwell of Oakhurst at Kingwood passed away at his home on Friday, March 27, 2020, at the age of 71. David was born in Houston, Texas on May 8, 1948, to William (Bill) David Caldwell and Fanny Kirkpatrick Caldwell.
David grew up in the Texas cities of Houston and Fort Worth. The summer before his senior of high school, his father was transferred to Tulsa, Oklahoma where David attended Thomas A Edison High School and graduated in 1966. He received his BS in Electrical Engineering and Masters in Business Administration from the University of Oklahoma in 1973.
David’s career was in the petroleum industry as an engineer, open hole district manager, division technical manager and in marketing until his retirement in January of 2014. He was an avid golfer from an early age, enjoyed traveling, loved his alma mater football and was the best example of a generous, kindhearted, and caring man who would do anything for his family and those that he loved. To say that David was simply a dedicated family man who loved his wife and children immensely is an understatement. The world lost a good and sometimes humorous man, and David lives on in each of those who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Cindy Gillespie Caldwell; his son, Chase Caldwell; his daughter, Chelsey (and husband, James) Dunn; and his first grandchild born on March 25, 2020, Clark Prescott Dunn; sister, Melinda (and husband, Jim) Noel; nephew, Frank (and wife, Liz) McGehee; nieces, Mindy (and husband, Connor) Riseden and Sarah Noel; three grand nieces and two grand nephews. David was preceded in death by his parents.
In light of the current health situation, a celebration of his life will be announced at a later date.
