William Joseph Edwards, known to everyone as "Joe", was born on September 11, 1961 in Houston, Texas. He went to be with the Lord on the evening of November 19, 2019. He learned from his father at an early age how to be a mechanic and ended up pursuing it as a life-long career. His smile lit up the room and he never met a stranger. You could always find him in the midst of cooking at every social gathering whether it be on the barbeque pit or boiling crawfish. His favorite place would be out on the lake, fishing pole in hand. He enjoyed performing many weddings as a Non Denominational Minister including that of his eldest daughter. He has been a part of many bowling leagues trying to reach that perfect score of 300. Not many knew but he loved to write poetry and was a hopeless romantic. Joe made an impact on every person he came across and for that many peoples lives will be impacted by his absence.

He is survived by daughters Jessica Ford and husband Bill Ford; Stephanie Hopkins and husband Dustin Hopkins; Grandson Wyatt Hopkins; Brother Sam Edwards and wife Lyda Edwards; Sister Betty Edwards; many nieces, nephews and loved ones. He is preceded in death by his parents Sammy Edwards and Patricia Edwards; Sister Pamela Melton.

A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held Wednesday December 4, 2019 @ 10:00 A.M. at the Kingwood Funeral Home.

such a sweet wonderful loving man...Joe was and will always be my brother...fond memories of playing UNO after a big family meal where Shari was sitting between Joe and I. Needless to say it looked like we planned to gang up on sister Shari when we skipped reversed and draw 4 her to the moon and back----we looked at each other and snickered..... Joe had a wonderful smile was a son that my mom and dad didn't biologically have... He will be sorely missed but we will be reunited in heaven where he is with his parents Pam Tom Libby and the others who went on before him if there's a fishing spot in heaven he is there with the others have a high old time MISS YOU BROTHER.....

We just learned of Joe's passing and was saddened to hear this news. He was indeed a kind & compassionate man. My Mother and I are honored to have known him. He was such a wonderful person. We have fond memories of his visits to Galveston to visit my Mother.
Condolences and Prayers of Comfort and Strength go out to his entire family - especially his daughters. God be with you during this difficult time.
