Hello. Jimmy and I were out of town when we heard the news about Bill. We are so sorry and have been praying for you and your family. I am sorry that we were not able to make it to the funeral. I have had a cold since Christmas Day and didn't want to bring the germs with me.

Bill, I cannot express how sorry I am about your father's passing, and how glad I am that you were able to spend so much time with him.  I know it meant a lot for both of you.  I tried to call your mom but her voicemail is full and I don't want to bother her.  Please know and tell her as well that I am here for anything that you all may need, as a friend of the family.

Barb, our love and condolences are with you and your lovely family. I just read Alex's message. What a wonderful keepsake for you.

Dear Barbara,
 
I was so sorry to learn of Bill's passing today and remember so well the time we shared together as riser mates with the Heralds of Harmony.  As one of the weaker singers, I always appreciated Bill's encouragement and assistance.  He's one of the reasons I sang with the Heralds for 35 years and had the priviledge of serving as their president.  I'm sure there are many who were never aware of how much Bill cared for his many friends and the chorus.  His memory in our hearts is secure.  Sincerely, in harmony.

Barb, you are in our thoughts and prayers. What a wonderful guy you were married to. He was always so full of life and fun to be around. Treasure the wonderful memories- they will help you get through the sadness of not having him with you.

I was shocked to get the news that Bill had crossed over to the other side.  Obviously, I knew that he had physical problems, but It's always a shock when you've been away for a long time and then find that your good friend is gone.  I know that it was hard for you as well.
 
I've always considered it a privilege to have been able to sing with him in ‘Friendly Arrangement' and I always had a really good time when we were together, even if just rehearsing.
 
Please know that I'm thinking and remembering you both.  It was a short time we had together, but a high quality time which I will always remember fondly.

So sorry to hear about your loss ,. . .  but rejoicing for Bill's gain in Christ.  Glad to hear that he left his earth peacefully in his sleep and arrived in time to celebrate Christmas in the presence of Immanuel.

I will certainly share the news with the FCCS church family and we will keep you in our prayers.  I thank God for allowing our paths to cross in Seminole!

Bill sang in the Tampa Bay Heralds of Harmony Barbershop Chorus and was one of the pillars of the chorus.  I sang with Bill in a quartet a number times and he was an excellent singer. I enjoyed being with him on the risers and having Bill as a friend.

Aunt Barbara, 
Wow, that's a picture I remember.  I remember Bill taking me up to the lab at MSU while he was a grad student and showing me the instruments.  Had to be the early 60's.  Left a big impression on me for years as a young kid being ushered into the hallowed grounds of a University lab.  A big deal.  Somewhere along the way he started buying ham radio equipment and I remember him building a "Heathkit" receiver or the like.  Much too complicated for me. I hate to think how many cups of coffee it took to put that kit together.  Besides that it required patience.  I remember Bill as a veteran.  LT Ellsworth of the US Army Signal Corp in Ft. Huachuca, AZ.  Pretty austere back then.  I'm sure you wouldn't recognize the place today.  I remember the times I was able to stop in Columbus on my trips back and forth to NY.  Those were very good times and memories.  I'll always remember his laugh.  I remember what a great looking couple you guys were together.

Uncle Bill impressed me with his knowledge of electronics and the outdoors.  He taught me so much the 2 summers that he & Aunt Barb took me camping in the Smokies.  
  Aunt Barb, Bill & John with their families will be in my thoughts & prayers.

Grandpa was so good to me. I can recall the times that we spent together picking oranges in Florida. He will be missed. God will carry all of us through these tough times. I cannot wait until i see him in Heaven.

 Our prayer is that God will love you through this temporary separation, that you will celebrate Bill's life,and that you will look forward to a great reunion in Heaven.

Gail and Ginny loved having Bill and Barbara at our home every week for small group.  Maggie, the dog, willingly shared her chair with Bill, who petted her through the whole meeting.  Ginny got into the habit of rubbing the top of Bill's head which caused the laugh and smile that only Bill could create.  We miss him very much and are thankful for the privilege of knowing him. It was an honor for me to spend time over the last few months with Mr. Ellsworth and his lovely family.  I particularly enjoyed his sense of humor and his kindness and will treasure the time spent with him.  I know he will be missed by all.

I was fortunate enough to sing with Bill in both choral and barbershop harmony for many years. You can't get much closer to God than the fellowship of harmony that you share with another person. So, for Bill, it was just one step across the line to the promise that "Where I am you shall be also". Keep on singing Bill.

Our days in the military at Fort Huachuca, Arizona will always be remembered and Bill made the military, and our unit, a pleasure to represent.
