

Born on May 16, 1944, in Sinton, TX,. Bill was not only a devoted husband and father, but also a devout Catholic, successful businessman, Army veteran, and avid lover of the outdoors and sports. His life was a testament to adventure, hard work, and devotion to family. As the founder of Capital Residential Mortgage, which he managed with his daughter, Connie Hamel, Bill's leadership and commitment to excellence left a mark on his colleagues, and clients. His values of perseverance and integrity were clearly reflected in the business he built.
Bill's love for the water and fishing, whether at the family’s coastal property or their lake house, was well-known. He also cherished camping trips, hunting, and outdoor adventures with family and friends. As an avid golfer, Bill was a familiar presence on the course, always competitive and ready for one more hole. His passion for the Texas Longhorns was unmatched, and he rarely missed a chance to cheer for the team, making his enthusiasm for Longhorn football a defining part of his life.
Those who knew Bill remember his stubborn streak and his belief in the importance of trying, no matter the outcome. He lived boldly and without apology, embracing risk and adventure as essential elements of a meaningful life. His spirit of determination and resilience will continue to inspire all who loved him.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William and Agnes Liles; his wife, Annett Liles; and his son, Bryan Liles. He is survived by his children, Bobby Liles and Connie Hamel (husband Rick); his grandchildren, Kaitlyn Liles, Morgan Bontrager (husband Brett), Mark Hahn (wife Sissy), Blain Hamel; and his great-grandchildren, Noah, Kensley, Bennett, and Beckham Bontrager. He is also survived by his brothers, Richard Liles and Mike Liles, and his sister, Cecile Martin, as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Bill leaves behind countless memories and laughs for those who knew him. He is now reunited with his beloved wife of 59 years, Annett, who he greatly missed over the last six months.
A funeral mass will be held on December 1, 2025, at St. Martha Catholic Church at 10:30 am, located at 4301 Woodridge, Kingwood, TX. The burial will at Veterans Memorial Cemetery at 2:00 pm, located at 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr. Following the funeral there will be a reception at Kingwood Funeral Home at 22800 US 59, Kingwood TX.
