Betty Jean Schwantz

It with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Betty Jean Schwantz in her 98th year. Betty was predeceased by her beloved husband of 60 years, Floyd. Loving mother of Glenn (Cheryl) and Valerie (Rick). Proud grandmother of Jessica and Taylor and great-grandmother to Sadie. She is survived by her sisters Gloria Schmidt and Elaine Harmer. Betty will be missed by her nephew Earl (Liz) and niece Theresa (Ricky). Predeceased by her parents Emma and Alexander Pert as well as her sisters Marjorie and Alice.

Family was the most important part of Betty's life and she loved getting together for social gatherings. Everyone appreciated her cooking and baking skills. She was an avid bowler and participated in a league for 20 years. Betty also enjoyed travelling and spent many summers camping.

Betty was a gentle soul who treated everyone like family.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Westmount Memorial Celebration Centre, 1001 Ottawa Street South in Kitchener. A private family service will be held at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, the family would appreciate donations to the Alzheimer Society or the Canadian Cancer Society.
