The time we were all in Mississauga Ontario for a wedding , the fire alarm goes off and Auntie Caroline was determend she was not leaving the apartment wothout her suitcases .. thank goodness her suitcases were still packed lol .. as we are all rushing out the door here comes Caroline with her bags.. 
if im not mistaken she got about half way down the hallway and we were allowed back into the building .. reason for the firealarm... someones bad  cooking skills . we all laughed over this for days on end .. 
R.I.P my beautiful auntie . may you rest in peace knowing you are missed dearly and loved by everyone that had the honor of knowing you .. I MISS YOU AND LOVE YOU SO MUCH .

Caroline has an aura about her, filled with warmth, love and compassion. From the moment you walk into a room and see her you are drawn to her. Her smile makes her eyes twinkle and the love is so powerful you feel blessed to be in her company. She has a way of making you feel like you were the guest she was waiting for. Her questions about yourself and your family, had you pouring out your heart in no time. Seriously, I believe I told her about pulling my sister’s hair when she was nine. Forget good cop, bad cop, looking at the face of an Angel, you confess all. A career in law enforcement was where she should have been, one look and the bad guys would cry and confess. When you were drawn away from her trance you realize she had evaded all questions about herself, like your life was all that mattered. When it was time to leave, you had to get that last smile and hug from her, hoping a bit of her magic would stay with you. 
I never referred to her in the past tense because she left her magic with everyone she ever encountered and therefore she will continue to be with us always.


We used get her yawning just by opening our mouth as if we were going to yawn. Once she started she couldn't stop .Then we would make her think we were going to put our finger in her mouth and that would stop the yawn and she would have that hanging on feeling that the yawn had to come out..We laughed so hard it brought tears to our eyes .I wish I could do that 1 more time.

I remember auntie Caroline was visiting us in Okotoks. We were at uncle Cams and aunt Janets. We were sitting at the kitchen table chatting having tea. (This is when aunt Caroline still smoked) she had her long beautiful nails and while smoking said to my mom, I can smoke and pick my nose at the same time. My mom having  the weakest stomach ever jumps up makes a mad dash and pukes her guts up. I thought auntie Caroline was gonna pee her pants from laughing so darn hard. She had the best laugh EVER!! ❤️❤️❤️ Will never forget her. I love and miss you so much auntie Caroline!! 😥

For the past 3 years I feel like we grew a bond between us that couldn't be broken, you were the one I would come to about absolutely everything, you always listened, you were there when I needed to cry or vent even when I let out my fears about life or raising Eden on my own. The last thing I said to you when we talked in the hospital was that you are my rock and I needed you here so hurry up and come home. You truly were my rock and everything we went through will be honored with so much love and respect.  I promise to keep my feet off the couch and I will try to remember to put the chair back up. I might forget, you know my memory. It was you I went too,  sometimes I would take what you said and sometimes I wouldn't but in the times I didn't it ended up in one way or another an "I told you so." Lol. What I am going to miss and remember most is our heart to heart talks and us  having similar upbringings. You welcomed me into your home and truly made Eden and me feel like family. I finally can say I have stability, roots, and grounding in my life. We started to see that everything had some reason as to why Corina and I became best friends after the first time we met in the backyard. You helped me grow so much as a mother a friend and so much more. When I was so stressed out and I didn't know what to do, you helped me. I could go talk to you, let it out and then be done with it just like that. We were laughing in no time. When I watch shows, we watched together I will think of you beside me laughing, crying etc.  there is so many shows to, It came to the point where we were searching for things to watch and had seen everything because of binge-watching and staying up falling asleep sitting up and eating all dressed chips with onion soup mix dip. You put up with my big mouth on a daily basis and you made us feel missed loved welcome safe. Eden will always remember and never forget you there's going to be lots of things to tell about grandma. Til we meet again, love you. 

When Jamie and I were going down to  Nova Scotia by train in the early 80's with mom, we developed an appreciation for yawning, and pretending we weren't paying attention as we secretly timed in our heads how long it would take for her to yawn. It was almost always within 3 seconds. 

That later evolved into a game. We  would yawn,  stretch our arms out like we were tired, and then shake her or otherwise disrupt her ability to get the yawn out. 

She always laughed and took it in stride. 

I have so many wonderful and funny memories like that.

I remember hanging at the house one night while the adults were doing what adults do wink wink. Us kids has a little sing and dance show for the parents.The song was putting on the ritz along with other songs but that one sticks in my head. As I said before I loved when they would send us to the corner store with a little baggie of pennies and we thought that we were rich and come back with a good helping of candylol can’t do that now a days. Many memories of a great time xoxox

I remember Caroline always welcoming me with a smile and a nice warm hug.  She was always kind and loving in her manner. I enjoyed sitting and talking with her at family gatherings.  The way she would ask you questions about your life you knew she genuinely cared and wanted to know all about you.  She loved family, and it was apparent in the way she would watch everyone interact and talk at gatherings, even if she wasn't talking she was taking it all in with a soft smile and a glow.  You could just tell she felt extremely blessed that this was her family and she did her job at raising them right. You will be missed Caroline. I'm blessed we got to cross paths on our journeys through life. xo

Whenever we were in the car going to the Dollarama or Tim Horton's for a cup of tea, we would have the Stray Cats playing and she'd grab my hand and say with glee, "This is me and you, driving around in Kitchener, Madge (me) and Maggie (her). I miss her soooo much! 😭💔

Mom, I will forever remember our morning tea, our time spent on the back deck admiring our beautiful gardens and our beautiful deck. the laughs we shared. kicking your butt at crib lol watching our favorite shows. You taught us kids how to love and be affectionate.  you always made Christmas wonderful when we were kids even though money was always tight.  You gave me the warm heart that I have today.  It was a comfort knowing you would be there when I got home from work.  We didn't have to talk just knowing you were there in our home was enough.  My heart is grateful that I had you here the last 5 years.  I love you with all my heart, all my soul and every fiber of my being.  I miss you so much already.  until we meet again xoxo
