I found out through my parents late last night that Charlie passed away. My heart is heavy with sadness.

Charlie was one of those people that when you met him, he could make a difference in your life and he was that for me. A mentor, intelligent, a kind soul, unassuming and very caring.
I talked about him in the highest regard.

I met Charlie in the late 70's when I was about 18. I was hired to help with books at the hardware store at Forest Glen Plaza. I didn't know a thing about bookwork but Charlie was so kind to me. Due to the owner, I didn't stay long but I lived in Country Hills on and off and went to Blessed Sacrament so I would run into Charlie and Margaret over the years and of course introduced him to my children. It's been a few years since I last saw him, now that I live in Waterloo. I often wondered how he was doing.

He confided in me when his lovely wife was ill and again after she passed away.

If ever there was a special person who deserved a special place in heaven, it's Charlie. Heaven is a better place now that he's there.

God bless you Charlie, I'm so happy that I got to know you.

My heart goes out to your family because I know the void someone like you leaves behind when they pass over.

God bless you all.
Wonita (Milani) Emslie.

My condolences to the family.

He will be missed.
I hope I am a fraction as sharp at his age, and as wise.
He was fun to talk to, and seemed to genuinely happy to see me during our rare meetings

The fact that he had eye surgery in his nineties to better see a grandson walk down the aisle says a lot.
