Thinking of you Muriel, Brian and Rhonda.  I have many fond memories growing up with your family, I spent a lot of time at your home in St. Jacobs and David was like a big brother to me.   My Mom also sends her love.

He was a wonderful man that we have had the pleasure of knowing for the last 9 years as our neighbour on Barwood Crescent. He was like family here and will be missed dearly. I will especially miss the "what's up dude" that I received daily on our back deck as we would converse.... he will be missed.

Dear Muriel: 
No words that I can come up with will ease your pain. Can only  "imagine" what you are feeling. Hope you will find some comfort and peace in your memories.

David Hayes and Family: So sad to hear of Dave's way to soon passing, as I am writing this I am looking at Dave's big Pike he caught with me up at lake Nezbit in the 80s sometime. He had it mounted and gave it to me many years ago. That fish almost cost me my life I will never forget, when fishing in Dave's canoe  both sitting in lawn chairs (kids don't do this! lol) Dave caught this big pike and way too quickly jumped up to get the net and yep I tip the canoe over and down I went to the bottom being cheap I didn't want to loose my $5.00 wal mart lawn chair in one hand and my $300.00 fishing pole in the other all I could think of was Dave was he going to be ok I dropped both barely making it to the surface and what do I see, is Dave who somehow  righted the canoe and was still fighting the big pike! way to go Dave you landed it and I am hear looking at it now! I have so many other stories on trucking trips, sitting around campfires ect ect. I always remembered being told Dave could out sell many in the sales field whoever he worked for. So sad that time and distance and the duties of this life take us away from those who we grew up with and shared life with. Well God Bless Hayes Family!  Dave will not be forgotten! Dave and I spent many hours together on our Rocky Mountain bicycles that I will never forget. My love and support goes out to the family. Dave will be missed.

To David's family,
When the light of someone you love goes out, life is never the same. May you gain strength in knowing you will see him again in the future.  I so hope you find solace in that. 
I remember seeing David at church throughout the years, kinda quiet with a sharp sense of humor and I smile at the memory.

Dear Mrs. Hayes and family. I am shocked and very sad to hear about David. Even though we had not spent time together in recent years, I have such fond memories.

So sorry to hear of the loss of David.

So sorry to hear the news. Dave was part of our lives at Beaver Creek and will always be part of that.

I am deeply saddened by this news and have many memories of Dave as a young man and a young father sharing meals together and his love of cycling...My prayers are with you in your grief.

The wonderful memories of David over the years will be with us always.

I certainly remember David and all of you, Muriel, Brian, Rhonda...and brother John, who also has gone on ahead of us.

Goodbye Dave! I have so many memories of you while you lived at Beaver Creek Housing Co-operative. You served on our Board several times and were a big presence in our community. You also knew how to party! I fondly recall your big smile and bigger laugh :) Geraldine and I send our love to family and friends.

My heart is heavy for you Muriel, Brian, Rhonda and your families.  I have such fond memories of David and all of you. You were all a big part of my childhood.
