Everyone's favourite rotor repair expert, always willing to help with any ham radio work - when too frail to climb my tower he'd still lead operations from the ground.
The very definition of an "elmer", a friend to all, Ham of the Year 2009 (and probably several other times), keen Field Day operator, valued mentor, and of course longest serving club treasurer - for over a decade. He'll be missed by all, but we're all better from having known him!

I have many great memories going back to the '60s of our friendship arising from our mutual interest in Amateur Radio and membership in the Scarborough Amateur Radio Club.
Don was certainly 'larger than life' and where he got his energy from I will never know.
My sympathy goes to his wife, Lynne and all the family.
May he Rest in Peace,

I'm Don's only granddaughter Shannon. I can always remember my grandfather on my hamradio talking to everybody around the world. He would always mention when I was there my daughter granddaughter is here to see me. I still remember a school trip that my grandfather was the school bus driver everybody asked why I kiss the school bus driver and I said it was my grandpa.
My Children Seth and Rachael we're so lucky to grow up and be with their great-grandfather for 14 and 16 years. He will truly be missed you will always be in my heart love you grandpa.
