Ellie Tews

Safely in the arms of Jesus, Ellie passed away peacefully on Friday, June 24, 2016 at the age of 84.

Daughter of the late Heinrich and Katarina Penner. Devoted wife of the late Richard (2015) for 59 years. Loving mother of Ingrid Hoel-Westenhoefer (Dan) and Wanda (Ken) Hawthorne. Oma of Ryan (Becky), Nathan (Sharlah), Rick (Amanda), Cheryl (Charles), Andrew, Nadine and Elaine and Great-Oma of Zechariah, Hannah, Caleb, Levi, Alex and Ariana. Predeceased by son-in-law David Hoel. Ellie is survived by her twin sister Katie and sister-in-laws Mary and Lois.

Ellie was an active and longtime member of Martin Luther Lutheran Church.

Ellie’s family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday June 29 at 10:30 am until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 pm in the chapel of Westmount Memorial Celebration Centre, 1001 Ottawa St. S. Kitchener. Interment Mount Hope Cemetery, Kitchener.

As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to Innisfree House, Martin Luther Lutheran Church, or the Gideon Bibles would be appreciated and may be arranged through the funeral home.
