OBITUARY
Emil Hatz
August 2, 1924 – February 12, 2011
Passed away peacefully, at Victoria Place Retirement Residence, in Kitchener, on Saturday, February 12, 2011, at the age of 86.
Cherished father of Emil and his wife Karen of Baltimore, Maryland and John and his wife Colleen of Brampton, Ontario, proud grandfather of Justin, Lauren, Eamon, and Christian.
Predeceased by his beloved wife, Clara, and his parents, Michael and Emerencia Hatz.
Emil was born on August 2, 1924 in Heiligenkreuz, Austria. He emigrated to Canada, first to Montreal, and then to Kitchener. Emil was also a long and faithful member of Blessed Sacrament Church in Kitchener.
The family will receive friends at the Westmount Funeral Chapel, 1001 Ottawa Street South (at Westmount Rd.), Kitchener, on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 from 2 until 4 and 7 until 9 p.m. Vigil Prayers will be offered at 8:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at Blessed Sacrament Church, 305 Laurentian Drive, Kitchener, on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at 10:30 am, with interment to follow at Woodland Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or St. Mary’s Hospital Cardiac Care Unit would be appreciated by the family and may be arranged by contacting the funeral home at (519) 743-8900.
