Eric Carl Schmid

Beloved husband of Brigitte (née Fennert) Schmid for 66 years. Dear father of Eric Schmid and his wife Maureen. Loved grandpa of Rhea (Drew), Kaitlin (Jamie), Ryan (Emily), and Mathias (P.J.), and great grandpa of Georgia, Scarlett, Maddox, Everett, and Evelyn. Dear brother of Paul Schmid (Carole) and Francis Schmid (June). Predeceased by his parents Paul and Maria Schmid, his sister Eleanor Schmid, and his brother Rudy Schmid.

Eric was a jack of all trades. It all started at age 7 when he took his father's car apart, and put it all back together again into full working order! After graduating from Galt Collegiate Institute, he went on to become an automobile mechanic and then progressed to working on diesel trucks. He later became Vice President of Dominion Consolidated Truck Lines. He also spent many summers at his cottage on Gloucester Pool, and loved the nature and peace of the surroundings.

Eric's family will receive relatives and friends at Westmount Memorial Celebration Centre, 1001 Ottawa St. S., Kitchener, (519-743-8900), on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 from 6 - 8 p.m., where the funeral liturgy will be held in the chapel on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery.
