Although long time friends meeting some time in the early 90s we had just recently reconnected.
I am grateful for this!
We talked last week
The conversation ended with
Love you brother 
I replied “I love you to”.

God is watching over you now

Fredy was a man who conquered many challenges in life.
He was a man who took responsibility for his actions.
He was a man who lived by his word.......trustworthy and loyal.
He was a man who inspired others to elevate themselves and
To help others.
He was my friend.

I met Fredy when I was in grade 9.   We went to school together and became best friends.   That was the beginning of our friendship that would last a lifetime.  

Today I am grateful for all the memories I have of him.  Fredy was the kind of friend anyone would have wished for growing up.

We did everything together, we worked out at the gym, went swimming at the beach, went camping, went to the movies and looked for girls which would get us into trouble once in a while.

I could always count on Fredy, like the time when we were going to a dance with our girlfriends at the time and my car died at a red light.  "Not to worry", said Fredy as he got out of the car and started pushing us until my little black Volkswagen started up again.

Fredy had an amazing heart, you knew you could always count on him and he was always there to listen to you.

He also had many talents, Fredy was an amazing cook and a great dancer.  He taught me how to break dance back in our break dancing days.  He liked to read, workout and he loved flowers.  Christmas was a special time for him, I lost track of how many Christmases we spent together.  When we couldn't be together he always found the time to call.

Fredy was part of our family and every time he came to our house, he always brought us flowers or a special gift, he never came empty handed, that's just who he was.

I will miss Fredy deeply, especially laughing together like we always did.  He will always be in my prayers and in my heart.

In Romans 12 it talks about serving God with spiritual gifts. Fredy's spiritual gift was hospitality. He enjoyed cooking and opening his home to friends. We would gather in his home almost every week. He would prepare a sumptuous meal. We would have a time of fellowship, worship, prayer, Bible study, and encouragement. Fredy was filled with the joy of the Lord. He radiated the love of Christ. He so looked forward to hosting church in his home. That's what church is, a gathering of fellow believers worshiping and giving thanks and praise to the Lord. We would often bring a person that we met on the street. That was never a problem for Fredy. They were always welcome. There was always another plate and a  extra chair at the table. 
I have much too learn from my brother Fredy when it comes to hospitality. ❤

As Mother Teresa put it, ‘The smile is the beginning of love.’
Fredy had a smile that could light up a room. When he smiled you could see the joy of the Lord. Sometimes I would tease him about how serious his FB profile pictures looked. I would encourage him to post a picture with his beautiful smile. He told me he was self conscious about his teeth. I told him that he had a beautiful smile, that brought joy to my heart. Then he sent he this picture of his book toothy grin. 
I will cherish it forever and it will bring joy to my heart every time I look at it. I hope it brings you joy today and some comfort and peace in the knowledge that Fredy is smiling and singing and dancing before the Lord in heaven. Love you brother ❤
