Grace passed away peacefully at Briarfield Gardens, May 15th, 2025 after a struggle with leukemia and COPD, in the company of her loving son Bob, her stalwart friend Margaret MacWhirter, and her caring companion for two years Jim Bester.
She looked forward to being reunited with her beloved 1st son Brian, who died at 36, and her creative 2nd husband Peter Gray who passed to the next world on Mar. 2, 2023 and was cremated as he wished. His ashes will be buried with Grace’s coffin.
She was a member of the Baha’i Faith which she served for 56 years. Its teachings challenged her to practise God’s laws and principles. She travelled to other countries to share this new revelation.
Grace taught school in 3 cities in Canada and during the racial integration of her school in Bermuda. She completed a B.A. in Art History at Western. At 56, a corneal transplant enabled her to study Journalism at Conestoga College. During 16 winters in Texas in their mobile home, Grace volunteered to write articles and Pete took pictures of Rio Grande Valley events and entertainment for San Benito News. Pete was a member of Zoomers – an R/C vehicle-building and race club at Fun N Sun, the couple’s Texas park.
