My Dad left this earth on Saturday September 2nd at 5:05pm surrounded by his family. We told stories, played music, sang, laughed and cried, but mostly we held him during his passing into his next journey and told him how much we love him. My Dad loved fiercely and was loved so fiercely back. It is so hard to let go of a love like that. My Dad lived and loved life and isn’t defined by his ending. That was only moments in his 80 year journey. So many funny stories and funny jokes and singing and laughter involved along in his story. My Dad did many things in his life but his family always came first. His family was with him and honoured his life greatest accomplishments by being with him and we were honoured to be holding him as he took his last exhale and went back to the universe. What a man, a legend, husband, father, Papa, friend, uncle, cousin, son, brother, nephew, godfather and father-in-law. A love like this never dies. My Mum and Dad were married 58 years and 63 years together and their love was uncompromising. He was so proud to be our Dad. He loved Claire and myself unconditionally, and my Dad loved his grandsons like nothing else. Rogan and Simon were his everything. My Dad always said be good to each in this life. It was such an honour to call him my Dad. I know you are always with us. He fought so hard these past few months but the body can only work for so long. We will continue as a family with his fighting spirit, laughter and love.
You will never walk alone.
In lieu of flowers donations to The Working Centre would be appreciated.
