Grandmother of Michael, Bradley, Jeffrey (Sara), Melanie, Daniel and Carly. Great Grandmother to Lucas, Samantha, Ben, Ella, William, Thomas, Evangeline, Weston, Marshall and Niko. Mom is survived by her brother Norman (Hedy), sister in laws Laura, Carol and Linda and brother in law Ray. Also survived by her niece Rebecca and many other nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by her husband Roy (2017) and her parents Leslie and Ella Wheeler. Her brother in laws Jack, Don, Norman and Al, and sisters in law Dorothy and Ruth Ann.

Mom spent most of her life fighting physical disabilities. She suffered through many surgeries, liver cancer, breast cancer and kidney failure. Despite all these challenges, she raised two sons, nurtured six grandchildren and showered her love over her 10 great grandchildren.

Mom was a previous employee of Smiles & Chuckles, a stay at home Mom, and later a civilian member of the Waterloo Township Police Force and then the Waterloo Regional Police Service, where she made lifelong friends.

Thanks to all the staff of Clair Hills Retirement residence for the caring and compassion shown to Mom over the past two and a half years. If we named all of you, the list would be too long. Thanks to the Nurses and Doctors at the Kidney Dialysis Unit at Grand River Hospital. Thanks to the wheelchair cab drivers at United Taxi for their dedication and caring in getting Mom to and from her dialysis appointments. Thank you to the Angels at Lisaard House. There was no better place for Mom to be before she finally left us. And thank you to everyone in our healthcare system, who keep a limping system running with the care, kindness, compassion and dedication every shift they work.

In keeping with Mom’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial visitation will take place on Friday, April 19 at 10:00 am with a service to follow at 11:00 am. Following a light reception, Mom will be laid to rest with Dad at the Calvary United Church Cemetery in St. Jacobs.
