Jack was the beloved husband of the late Barbara (nee Brown) Hughes (1998).
Loving father of John Hughes, Peter Hughes and David Hughes. Also loved by his grandchildren, Brandon, Stefanie and Daniel. Dear brother of Phyllis Goodwins, Gwyneth de Geus, Frances McCormick, and the late Jim Hughes.
As an avid reader and swimmer, Jack will be fondly remembered by patrons and staff of Forest Heights Branch, Kitchener Public Library and the Forest Heights Public Pool. He was an active member in the local War Amps Organization and spent his final months residing at the Sunnybrook Veterans’ Residence.
Jack resided and worked for more than 30 years in the Saguenay Region of Quebec.
Friends will be received at the Westmount Funeral Chapel, 1001 Ottawa Street South (at Westmount Rd.) 743-8900, from 2-4 and 7-9 on Wednesday March 9, 2005. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Thursday at 1:00 pm followed by cremation.
