Farwell, Judith Ann (Schmitt) May 29, 1947 – February 19, 2020

Surrounded by the people who loved her, Judy started the next chapter of her story. “You are my sunshine, my only sunshine. You make me happy when skies are grey. You’ll never know dear how much I love you. Please don’t take my sunshine away”.

Loving mother to Jeremy “Bubba”. Sister to Douglas (Edee) Schmitt. Aunt to Geoff (Jennifer) Schmitt, Jane (Geoff) Atkinson and Tim (Kamila) Schmitt. Great Aunt to Kate and Keira Atkinson and Damien and Trinity Schmitt. Predeceased by her parents Walter and Delores (Schnarr) Schmitt.

Judy was a long time employee of J.M. Schneider’s where she retired after working there for 44 years. She was also an active volunteer at Sunnyside Home for many years. She thoroughly enjoyed bingo and pub night and her caring spirit shone through for many people. Her gentle nature will truly be missed.

Family and friends are invited to Westmount Memorial Celebration Centre (1001 Ottawa St. S.) on Monday, February 24 from 2-4 and 7-9. A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, February 25 at 1:00 pm in the chapel. Memorial Donations may be made to Sunnyside Home or the Cystic Fibrosis Canada. Aunt Judy gave Kate a Robert Munsch treasury when she was born. It still remains one of Kate and Keira's favourite books. At least once a month, we snuggle in bed and read the stories. This book will be shared with generations to come.

Dear Jeremy

What a beautiful tribute to your Mom today - The service was so welcoming and the minister did a beautiful job in sharing his thoughts and also your message to all of us - your message was loving and gave all of us an insight of the bond between both of you - yes she was your Rock but you were her Rock also - remember that - Take care Bubba - and remember you just need to contact any one of us (the Hause family) if you want any assistance or to just touch base - love and hugs - Uncle Jim & Aunt Joyce

We send our deepest of condolences for the sad loss of beautiful Judy! We both worked at JMS , shared many smiles and laughs as we daily greeted Judy as we passed the mail room. She was one warm hearted, caring and absolutely beautiful person and such a lovely personality. Judy was a special person for her dedication and love she gave to the residents of Sunnyside Home. My Aunt, Vicki Reesor (Hergott) was often under her wing while there and my Uncle Don Reesor could not say enough about her genuine care for Vicki. We just want you to know you are all in our thoughts and prayers. Judy will always hold a special place within our heart! I have sent a picture I took of Judy while visiting my aunt , she is with one of the residents, (unknown to me, however) All our love to Judy's family, Garry and Cheryl Kocher
