I had a lot of fun with Judy, and her great big hugs could warm the coldest heart. Singing and dancing to campfire songs, she made me feel welcomed.  Those memories will be cherished forever.  My sincere condolences to the family,  and hugs to all.

From the Ottawa Contingency of the Family,

When I left this morning for my satellite office – a euphemism for Starbucks – I felt very sad. I turned on the radio to distract myself and the song playing was Don’t Forget Me When I’m Gone by Glass Tiger. I could hear Judi’s voice in my head, singing along and laughing at my surprise. Family are never really gone. Even in death, they come back to haunt us with the wonderful memories that we have of them. And why would I be surprised that she decided to ride along with me this morning - she did love her morning coffee.

In fact, it was a ritual for her and my mom to have morning coffee together. And what an incredible companion she was for my mom. I largely credit Judi for dragging my mother out of her semi-coma when she was in ICU many years ago and not expected to live. Just as I credit her with bringing Christmas that year to Ottawa. Not only was Mom sick but Alain was recovering from a serious accident. Despite my secret desire to just skip Christmas that year, Judi had other plans. She brought her entire family for Christmas with us. It was a wonderful distraction and reminded me yet again of the incredible value of family. And even when my mother was discharged from hospital, Judi spent weeks in Ottawa helping her recover – which was no small feat. After having had brain surgery, my mother vomited roughly 20 times a day. Judi never ceased to make us laugh with her nicknames for my mom - Old Faithful or Bottomless Pit - or her scheming to use Mom’s vomiting to jump the long lines at Tim Horton’s or encourage people – when visiting – to bring chocolate cupcakes on the pretense that chocolate was an anti-nausea remedy. 

I have absolutely no doubt that Judi will be with us forever. She lives on every morning when I have coffee, every Christmas, every time that I see chocolate cupcakes, and now, every time that I hear Glass Tiger on the radio. Loads of love to a woman who will never be forgotten, even when she is gone.

As we watch your Mother's celebration from PEI today, we are with you in spirit.  Auntie Judy was a wonderfully present and engaged women. Her wonderful smile and joyful laugh will not be forgotten. You are all loved,

Oh what fun times our families had on Boxing Day in Bolton.  The laughter, the food and just being together. 
My family has such great memories and I’m sure Sara, Adam and Rachel do also.
Judi was my cousin but also my stepsister.  She was very special to me and my family. She is now at peace and that’s all we can ask.

There are no adequate words after loss.  Judi - I will cherish always my memories of your warmth, kindness and humour. Thank you for raising Sarah Joy - the most loving, supportive, genuine and laughter-filled best friend I could have dreamed of.  You had such a gentle and loving touch in this world, which will carry on in your many loved ones.  We celebrate you, and remember you, and miss you, all at once.

My sincere condolences to the Hopkin family. I first met Judy as a pre teen when I was asked to look after her and her brothers when I was a student nurse. Have many fond memories of her and her family  as and when we met at church camps of the Community of Christ. and on  other occasions. Will remember  her giant smile and sunny disposition.

Adam, I am so sorry for your loss.  My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time.

Growing up going to church and seeing you every Sunday. You were like my other family growing up.  I remember having you over for dinner with my mom ice cream cake.!or doing the Swiss chalet lunches after church. You were always there for me during my troubled times and never once judged or walked away from me. 
Listening to you play the piano at church your laugh. You touched aooo many peoples lives

Judi has been a part of my life for my whole life. She was my other mother. The hours I spent in the Hopkin household growing up are some of my favourite memories. As I grew into adulthood, I missed Sunday lunches after church and Christmas Eve or New Years get togethers. Not to mention all the summers I spent either camping with the Hopkins or just living at their house as Rachel and I spent every moment together. 

I will miss your smile and your great laugh. I miss getting Swiss Chalet with you, our Mother-Daughter dinners.

Many wonderful memories with Judi and Willis they were such good friends we will miss them both! Glad they are together now.
Judi's laugh was such fun! So glad we all had the celebration together at Sarah & Chris's wedding. Wonderful to share so much!
Also just to say Community of Christ meant so much to both our families . It formed a bond beyond all else.
