Kallistheni passed away peacefully following a long and courageous battle with cancer. Although she struggled with her declining health, she was a model of perseverance, positivity and faith.
Kallistheni was predeceased by her loving husband, Timo (2017), her cherished brothers Savvas and Nikos, as well as her parents and many relatives both near and far.
Kallistheni leaves behind her beloved brother Demitris Costi (Maroulla), and her dearest sister and best friend, who she was inseparable from, Angela Erotokritou (Agamemnon).
Kallistheni is survived by her loving daughters, Stella ( Peter) Machado and Vicky Fernandes, as well as her beautiful, most cherished granddaughters, Angelina, Aaliya, Mya and Ava.
Kallistheni was born in Mosphili, Cyprus, to a family of 7, and immigrated to Canada with nothing more than a small suitcase on April 29, 1972. While in Cyprus she worked as a nurse and took great pride in helping others. Upon her arrival in Canada, she was determined and worked hard to build a wonderful life for herself and her family after meeting her husband Timo. Together, Timo and Kallistheni gave their daughters the absolute best life.
Kallistheni will be remembered for her warm smile, her love and devotion to her family and her genuine care and compassion for all who were a part of her life.
Although Kallistheni’s time on earth has come to an end, she will leave a legacy of caring, kindness and inspiration that will live on through her daughters and granddaughters and in the hearts of all who knew her.
Our family would like to extend our sincere gratitude and love to Loukia Georgiou for her friendship and unconditional love through my Mother’s illness and most difficult times. In addition, we’d like to acknowledge Dr. Hubei, Dr. Tan, as well as the nursing staff of Hospice Waterloo Region for their care and compassion during the most difficult time.
