Mr. Lorne Thompson

Peacefully after a brief illness, at Grand River Hospital, on Monday March 10, 2014 in his 82nd year. Beloved husband of the late Marilyn (2009), Lorne will be lovingly remembered by his children; Robert Thompson (Betty), Linda Thompson (Chris) and Dianne Adams (Richard). Loving Grandpa to Michael, Sarah, Nathan, Gareth and Nicole, and supportive big brother to Allan Thompson (Sharon). Lorne relocated his family to Glen Morris from Peterborough in 1967. He enjoyed a long career of over 25 years with Budd Automotive before his retirement in 1994.

He will be lovingly remembered by all who knew him. The family extends a sincere thank you to the nursing staff at Grand River Hospital 5A and 5C, as well as the staff of Hamilton General Hospital Neurology Department.

Family and Friends will be received at the Westmount Funeral Chapel, 1001 Ottawa St. S., Kitchener, 519-743-8900, on Sunday March 16th from 2-4 p.m. Service to celebrate Lorne’s life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday March 18th at 1:30 p.m. with Reverend Randy Banks of Olivet United Church officiating. Spring interment will be at Glen Morris Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
