Passed away at Freeport Hospital on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at the age of 93.
Beloved wife of the late Al Drew (2012). Dear mother of David Drew and mother-in-law of Rhonda Shoemaker-Drew and Richard Bellemare. Loved grandmother of Matthew Drew, Colleen Bellemare, and Steven Bellemare. Beloved great grandmother of Mia Casey and Jada Drew. Dear aunt of Jocelyn Ness, Colin Thompson, Linda Graham, Wendy Bourgeois, Diane Allain, and Gary, Tom and John Gardener. Loving cousin of Heather Baylis, Tyler Baylis, Lynne Whitsel and Gordon Duke. Predeceased by her daughter Susan Bellemare (2018), her granddaughter Mallory Drew (1990), and her brother Doug Thompson and his wife Carmen, and by her parents Richard and Marion Thompson.
Joan’s family will receive relatives and friends at Westmount Memorial Celebration Centre, 1001 Ottawa St. S., Kitchener, (519-743-8900), on Saturday, September 7, 2024, for a time of viewing from 1:00 – 1:45 p.m., where the funeral service will be held in the chapel at 2:00 p.m. Interment at a later date at Glen Oaks Cemetery, Oakville.
