Mary Anne lived above me on Irvin Street for a time a few years ago. We got to know each other a little and would have a conversation once in a while. When I moved , we lost touch.I was sad to hear of her passing. Such a kind, special person. Please accept my sincere condolences.

My brother, Peter and I met the Schreiter family 53 years ago when we moved to Rockway Drive and it was an instant friendship with lots of good times and many great memories. Even though I wasn't super close to Mary Anne I remember her as being a warm, kind and gentle soul with a beautiful smile. Wishing her peace and the same to all of the Schreiter family. To Jeffery, Jamie, Paul, David and the rest of the Schreiter clan and families;
It was so heartbreaking to hear about Mary Anne's passing. My deepest and heartfelt condolences.
The memory that has stayed with me forever...surprising how much I've thought about it over the years...was coming across Mary Anne and David canoeing by blueberry island. It was one of those quiet still lake mornings, the water like glass. A perfect morning. They were so healthy and glowing and fresh in the blush of youth, floating around in that canoe. It struck me how beautifully Canadian they looked. I told them that, and Mary Anne with pink cheeks a big huge smile, laughed and thanked me! She was very sweet.
I'm so very sorry for your loss and am thinking of you all.

Heartfelt sympathy to Mary Anne's family at this time of tremendous loss. Mary Anne was a lovely, warm, kind, funny, clever and generous spirit. She always had time to listen and was so quick with a smile. As part of our high school "gang" I have only the best and happiest memories of time spent together. She will be forever remembered and loved.

My heartfelt condolences to The Schreiter Family.
Mary Anne & I have known each other since kindergarten. Many great memories-under 13 sleepovers, in the den with stereo blasting-1st time I ever heard Black Sabbath! and Mrs. Schreiter's awesome breakfasts the next morning.
At ECI we had lots of laughs in & out of class, on the basketball court, and our secret journeys-sneaking out on 2nd period spare. We took off in Cheri's car every day, but eventually got caught by Mr. Heibein-Oh another first-we had detentions.
Many years passed that we didn't see each other, both of us pursuing careers in different locations. Then out of the blue, I'm in an elevator at GRH-it stops & in hops.... Mary Anne. We screamed, hugged, cried. My Dad was with me & he said it was like time stood still just for us. Being able to see that smile of yours again after so long was wonderful.
To my Tea Buddy(Shirley), rest in peace my dear friend.
From your Little Redhead (Laverne).

My condolences, prayers and empathy to my cousins, the "Schreiter Clan" on the passing of Mary Anne. Although my memories of Mary
Anne are few they are all positive, interesting and happy. She always seemed to be exploring new avenues and activities from running her own bread making enterprise one summer to refinishing furniture another. A warm caring and supportive person. In my world she will be missed.

To the Schreiter family,
I am so sad to hear of Mary Anne's passing. I have many memories of fun times shared with Mary Anne at Eastwood, in class, on the basketball court and the track, and outside of school. I remember a lot of laughing - Mary Anne was quick to smile and laugh (and also quick to blush in any mildly embarrassing situation). She was quiet and polite to the extreme. I remember one particular time when we were driving somewhere in my car in the winter. I was chatting away to her, but then noticed that Mary Anne was almost frantically fanning her face with her hand, so I finally clued in and asked "Are you hot?" - which of course she was, but was too polite to say anything, or to turn down the heat, in case the rest of us in the car were comfortable. This was followed by much laughter as we continued on our way, with the heat at a lower setting!
That was Mary Anne to a 'T', always putting others ahead of herself, and bestowing her kind and gentle nature onto those around her. I feel fortunate to have known her, and even though our lives took us in separate directions after high school, she will not be forgotten.
Thinking of the Schreiter family at this sad time.

I was saddened to hear of Mary Anne's passing.
I have many happy memories playing with Mary Anne in your families backyard on Rockway Drive. I also remember many wonderful children birthday parties Mary Anne would invite me too. One of my favourite memories of Mary Anne was that of being her prom date at the University of Toronto in 1982. It was a wonderful evening to be a part of. Being a fellow Physiotherapist we kept in touch over the years and I followed her academic and professional career through our own contact and shared friends. Your loss is profound. I can tell you that Mary Anne's gentleness and kindness will be missed by many.
Kind regards always,
Jeff Garrett

So very sorry to hear this news. I remember fondly our summers at Eagle Lake. Together Mary Anne and I baked countless butter tarts and rye bread and then delivered the orders by boat to other cottagers. Lazy summer days and nights around the camp fire. Sending sincere condolences to all of Mary Anne’s family.

It was with sadness that I read today of Mary Anne's passing. I remember many happy times spent with her in high school at Eastwood Collegiate. Mary Anne was always a great, if quiet, competitor and contender for "best marks" on any given assignment in pretty much any subject. Her happy smile and willingness to share her knowledge, skills and ideas made her welcome in any group as well. I remember her as a warm, friendly and humble person. My condolences on your great loss, Schreiter family.

Remembering always the finest of childhood years spent together at our beloved Eagle Lake; those fiercely competitive baseball games and badminton matches, Barbies played on the flat rock, endless hours swinging between the giant birches and the best of evenings hiding and seeking as the light gradually left us. Wishing Mary Anne the eternal peace she so greatly deserves. May that perpetual light shine upon her!

Thinking of everyone with the loss of Mary Anne. Hard to believe I’ve known her laughter, kindness, brilliance for 50 years.
Thank you for all the fun time’s at 644, Schreiter’s Shoe and your love for the children - Erin, John, Keri and Mark. You were always willing to come and play with the kids, read stories and make them feel special.
Also for the best butter tart recipe ever, one that is still in my collection.

It was with great shock + sadness that I learned today that Mary Anne had died. She was a dear collegue and friend. She was such a brilliant physio - always had such a good way with words in writing reports, had a calm manner about her and through her work at UH in London, she was part of a team that taught Physio on one of the Islands. Mary Anne thrived and was respected in the ICU setting and loved working with 'chest' patients as I did. We worked for a number of years together as Physios at "KW" Hospital. After her hospitalization+ time in the nursing home..I invited her to my home or would pick her up for a mutually enjoyed meal at Swiss Chalet! In the last 1+ years we had lost touch. I had been thinking of her so much in the past couple of months....God had put her on my heart I guess....and I'll always regret I didn't get around to calling her. Praying she is at peace. With my deepest sympathy to each of you in her family....Mary Anne was a very special person and will be greatly missed...Anne Robertson

To the Schreiter Family,
Derek and I have you in our thoughts during this sad time. I am sure you hold many happy memories of all the time you spent as a family at Eagle Lake. What could have been better time than to spend a summer at the lake playing with your cousins, in an out of the water and berry picking along the road.
All our Love,
Pat and Derek
