Michael Edward Ryan

Passed away at St. Mary’s Hospital on Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at the age of 67 years. Beloved husband of Nora Ryan (nee Curry). Dear father of Michael Francis Ryan and his wife Erika. Loved grandfather of Liam Michael Ryan and Audrey Jolyn Ryan. Dear brother of Joanne Ryan and her children Douglas and Amy McCauley. Also remembered by his other nieces and nephews and extended family and friends. Predeceased by his parents John and Kathleen Ryan, and his brothers Wayne and Richard. Michael was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1504, where he served on the Council and was Chairman of the Corporation. He enjoyed sailing, playing horseshoes and darts, and spending time with his friends at Country Gardens. Michael founded Playcon Recreation Inc. in 1973, and for the last several years has worked alongside his son Michael.

Michael’s family will receive relatives and friends at Westmount Memorial Celebration Centre, 1001 Ottawa St. S., Kitchener, (519-743-8900), on Tuesday, May 24, 2016, from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at Blessed Sacrament RC Church, 305 Laurentian Dr., Kitchener, on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at 11:00 am. Cremation will follow. Interment at a later date in Williamsburg Cemetery.
