

Heaven opened her gates and received an earth angel, words cannot properly eulogize his very being. Left to mourn, his beloved wife Kim (nee Voisin), the other piece to his heart. Dear father of Tyler Ruge (Whitney) and Nicholas Ruge (Victor). Big Papa to grandson Lincoln, granddaughter Scarlett, and his "grand-dog" Roy. Brother to Bob McCoppen and John McCoppen. Brother-in-law to Steve Voisin (Angela). Uncle to Mitchell Voisin (Alicia) and Mike Voisin (Michelle). Predeceased by his father Robert McCoppen, his mother Joan Stevens (Kerry), his stepmother Mae McCoppen, and his mother and father-in-law Elinor and Ronald Voisin. Randy lived life to the fullest, never taking one moment for granted, and living his life in service to others. Randy worked for 40 years for Petro-Canada/Suncor, and will be missed by his colleagues. He was an avid Kitchener Rangers season ticketholder, and loved the Toronto Maple Leafs. His love of golf got him through many hard times throughout his struggle with cancer. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and support staff at the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre. Special heartfelt thanks to Dr. Mario Valdes, Dr. Matthew Kilmurry, Dr. Mohammed Hussein, Dr. Nadira Husein, and his homecare nurse Sharon Miller, whose efforts blessed us with the gift of more time with Randy. Special thanks to all our family, friends, neighbours, and anyone else who lended assistance and support during this difficult journey. Randy, your fight is over. It's now time to cash in your Golden Ticket. Your legacy will live on with those you've left behind.
Cremation has taken place. Randy's family will receive relatives and friends at Westmount Memorial Celebration Centre, 1001 Ottawa St. S., Kitchener, (519-743-8900), on Thursday, December 19, 2019, from 12:00 - 12:45 p.m., where the memorial service will be held in the chapel at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations would be appreciated to the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre, 835 King St. W., Kitchener, ON N2G 1G3.
