Raymond Edward Goetz

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grand father, brother passed away Saturday, November 2, 2019.

Born April 26, 1934 in the town of Mildmay, Ontario, the seventh of ten children, Ray was a Royal Canadian Naval Veteran and a stationary engineer in Elliot Lake and Kitchener. He married his loving wife, the late Edna (2010) on August 18, 1956 and together they raised seven children. Ray enjoyed playing cards with friends and family, summers in Port Elgin, winters in Arizona, fishing and boating. He is survived by his children: Denise (Doug) Arndt, Gus, Richard (Sue), Cindy Friolet, Roger, Cheryl (Darin) Ellis, and Jason (Amanda) as well as his grandchildren; Michelle and Lindsay Goetz, James Gardiner, Algernon Friolet, the late Raymond Friolet, Nicole and Stephanie Ellis, Colten and Mackensie Goetz, Lilianna, Emily, Jackson, and William Goetz, and great grandchildren; Ella and Abby Goncalves. Ray is also survived by his siblings; Helen Howard, Bob, Kaye (the late Claire) Durrer, and Bruce (Gerry) and sister in law Harriet (the late Allan). He is predeceased by his parents John "Jack" and Arsenia "Babe" (nee Kramer) Goetz, sister Eileen (the late Horace) Finbow, brothers Lloyd, Lorne (the late Joan), Jim (the late Christine). Family and friends are invited to visit at the Westmount Memorial Celebration Centre, 1001 Ottawa St. S. on Wednesday November 6 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with Parish Prayers to be held. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony Daniel Parish, 29 Midland Dr. on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. with Father Tim Theriault officiating. Cremation will follow, private family interment will be at Williamsburg Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Innisfree House or the Alzheimer Society of Waterloo-Wellington are greatly appreciated. Share memories online at www.westmountfuneralchapel.com
