Passed away at Waterloo Regional Health Network at Midtown on Friday, January 23, 2026 at the age of 83. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and a steady presence in the lives of all who knew him.
An avid lover of the outdoors, Richard found joy and peace in movement and nature. He especially loved biking long roads and trails, swimming whenever he could, and skiing through quiet winter landscapes. These activities were more than hobbies—they were how he connected with the world and found balance and happiness.
Above all else, Richard loved his family. He was deeply proud of them and grateful for the time spent together, whether sharing everyday moments or celebrating life’s milestones. His kindness, quiet strength, and unwavering support will be remembered always. Richard is survived by his loving wife, Carol-Ann (née Crane) Nash; his children, Shellee Griffith (Trevor), Scott Nash, and Jason Nash (Jessica); and his cherished grandchildren, Owen, Lilly, Mia, and Sophie. He is also lovingly remembered as a dear brother to Kirsten Eisenkraft (Alberto), Connie Robillard (J.R.), Michael Nash (Ann), and Belinda Boyer (Richard). He was preceded in death by his parents Horst and Lucia (Baltrusch) Nash.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Richard’s family will receive relatives and friends at Westmount Memorial Celebration Centre, 1001 Ottawa St. S., Kitchener, (519-743-8900), on Friday, January 30, 2026 from 5 – 9 p.m., and again on Saturday, January 31, 2026 from 10:30 – 11:15 a.m., where the funeral service will be held in the chapel at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Williamsburg Cemetery.
