Robert Bob Stirling

Passed away peacefully at Winston Park Nursing Home on Friday, March 27, 2015, at the age of 90 years. Beloved husband for 59 years of the late Lorraine Stirling (nee Mitchell). Dear father of Jim (Pauline), David (Kathy), and Laurel (Carmine Cesari). Loving grandfather of Ian (Phyon), Karen, Mark (Amber), Patti (Walter), Robbie (Amy), Kevin (Tara), Christopher (Melanie), Thomas (Shannon), and David and great grandfather of Riley, Paige, Wally, Hope, Parker, Drew, Mackenzie, Evan, Grace, Ariel, and Chloe. Older brother to predeceased sister Margaret “Peggy”. At age 19, Bob joined the RCAF and flew in a Halifax bomber as a Communications Officer during WWII. Bob worked for Bell Canada until his retirement. In his spare time, Bob enjoyed his family, golf, gardening, and his annual fishing trip. Bob’s family will receive relatives and friends at Westmount Memorial Celebration Centre, 1001 Ottawa St. S., Kitchener, (519-743-8900), on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 from 1:00 – 1:45 pm, where the funeral service will be held in the chapel at 2:00 pm. Cremation will follow. If desired, donations to the Salvation Army, 75 Tillsley Dr., Kitchener, ON N2E 3T1, or the Alzheimer Society, 831 Frederick St., Kitchener, ON N2B 2B4 would be appreciated.
